Sub-only processing on XT32+SubEQ processors

I am close to putting an order on the Onkyo PR-5508 processor which features the new Audyssey XT32+SubEQ and I am planning on buying the pro-kit as well for setting my own target curves. Will it be possible to "tell" Audyssey to only correct the subwoofer and leave the other speakers as they are?

I'm interested to know this as well, but I have mains with powered towers.  Is it possible to calibrate the standalone sub with the powered towers subwoofers, but not adjust the mids and highs of the mains?  The powered towers subwoofers get the signal from the speaker wire, though I could connect an LFE input into it.

Sorry for the late response. This didn't show in my inbox... The answer is no. You can't selectively tell Audyssey which speakers to correct in the AVR.  Why would you want to? The acoustical problems are not confined to the low frequencies.

I would also be interested in a SubEQ only option.

I have electrostatic mains, center and surrounds which after weeks of different measurements and methods are proving difficult to measure accurately, sometimes the results are ok but the sound seem colored instead of corrected, fortunately the environment I'm in is pretty forgiving and would not need the Multi EQ, it would be nice to just fine tune the low-end, on the plus side the level settings and distances are spot on, I’m just not 100% satisfied with the EQ.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Electrostatics are tough because of the lobing they exhibit as you move up and down.  We have found that sampling the listening area at different heights gives the best results.
